Senior Buyer

MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Senior Buyer for one of our manufacturing clients based in Falkirk.

The Role

As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of purchasing activities across a defined spend category, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, cost control, and commercial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities within a manufacturing environment
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with key suppliers
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance metrics
• Support production planning through effective material availability and risk management
• Drive cost reduction and value improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams on changes and new projects
• Monitor market trends and supply chain risks
• Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within manufacturing / industrial sectors
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
• CIPS qualification or working towards is advantageous
