MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Procurement Manager for one of our manufacturing clients based in West Lothian.
About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturing business based in Musselburgh, West Lothian, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and optimise their procurement function. This is a hands-on role combining strategic sourcing, supplier management, and operational procurement to support production and drive cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
- Source and manage suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to forecast requirements.
- Manage procurement budgets and track savings and KPIs.
- Lead and mentor a small procurement team.
- Keep up-to-date with market trends and best practices in procurement.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer in manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to drive process improvements and deliver measurable cost savings.
