Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing parcel logistics business, is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Supervisor to support the efficient running of their busy distribution operation. The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising daily warehouse and sortation activities, ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and service. You will lead by example, motivating teams to deliver outstanding performance in a time-critical logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of warehouse and sortation teams.
- Ensure parcels are processed, sorted, loaded, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Monitor operational performance and support the achievement of key KPIs.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members to maximise productivity and engagement.
- Conduct daily team briefings and communicate operational priorities effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor staffing levels and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions where required.
- Work closely with management teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and operational discipline throughout the site.
About You
- Previous supervisory experience within logistics, parcel distribution, warehousing, or a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and drive performance under pressure.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Experience working with operational KPIs and performance targets.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
