MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting an Inventory and Systems Controller on a 12-month fixed-term basis for one of our heavy engineering clients based in West Lothian.

The Role
The Inventory & Systems Controller will manage and optimise stock levels, systems, and processes to support efficient operations. This is a critical role, ensuring that materials, components, and finished products are accurately controlled and available to meet production and project requirements.
You will be the key link between procurement, production, and project teams, ensuring stock accuracy, timely reporting, and process improvements across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory across raw materials, components, and finished goods.

Monitor stock movements, reconcile discrepancies, and conduct regular audits.

Manage and maintain ERP/inventory systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Work closely with procurement and operations to forecast requirements and optimise stock levels.

Generate reports and KPIs to support management decision-making.

Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, obsolescence, and stock discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and health & safety regulations.
Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in inventory management within heavy engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

Strong knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.

Effective communication skills and ability to work across teams.

Understanding of ISO standards and health & safety requirements.
