MRD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturing client based in Falkirk.
In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the site, leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians. You’ll be responsible for managing capital projects, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
You will play a strategic role in aligning engineering performance with business objectives, ensuring the facility meets both current and future production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure team skills and competencies meet site and business standards.
- Provide engineering and technical support to maintain operational reliability and minimise downtime.
- Support non-routine operations with risk assessments, procedural guidance, and performance optimisation.
- Deliver mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation support for maintenance and repair work.
- Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, meeting targets for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and control processes.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and process safety standards, maintaining all relevant documentation.
- Oversee inspection and overhaul programs, coordinating external contractors and suppliers as required.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and promote high standards in health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Conduct engineering studies to improve safety, efficiency, and overall business performance.
- Plan and recommend capital investments to support short-, medium-, and long-term business goals.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in Engineering or Maintenance Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and budgets.
- Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement principles.
- In-depth knowledge of H&S, environmental, and quality compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all organisational levels.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
- Experience with CMMS systems and data-driven maintenance approaches.
