Despatch Planner

£26000 - £27000 per annum + plus excellent benefits

MRD Recruitment is hiring a Despatch Planner for our FMCG client, based in Kilmarnock.

The Despatch Planner, based in Kilmarnock, will report into the Despatch Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong clerical and administration skills to join an exciting business in a sought-after industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter all customer orders onto a spreadsheet with correct details.
  • Book in all UK customer orders with the customer ensuring we meet their delivery expectations.
  • Ensure all daily Transport has been booked to collect & deliver all.
  • Manage daily despatch hours to ensure we are maximising despatch capacity & customer delivery expectations.
  • Ensure all customer orders meet OTIF
  • Ensure the orders are despatched with the correct haulier using the price matrix to ensure we deliver a cost-effective delivery service.
  • Track & issue a number of daily & weekly KPI’s to the despatch Team Leader & Logistics Manager.
  • Working closely with the customer service team to resolve any customer delivery, or stock issues to minimise the impact on the customer.
  • Attend the daily planning meeting to understand what stock/ production issues we may be facing and help unlock any workarounds to limit the impact on the customer.
  • Take a lead when required within the department, supporting the team leader to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is processed correctly and completed timely.
  • Willing to get involved in any department projects.
  • Must be able to show autonomy, but ensure all relevant information is passed through the correct channels.
  • Other duties as required / instructed by Team Leader / Management.
  • Booking and planning stock collections and customer returns
  • Booking and controlling drivers and vehicles on site

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills – including good telephone manner.
  • Good with Numbers.
  • High level of skill on Excel.
  • Able to compose and send e-mails.
  • Flexible & a drive to get the job done.
  • Able to fit into an established team.
