I’m recruiting a Quality Engineer on behalf of my manufacturing client, based in Livingston. The role of the Quality Engineer, based in Livingston is to control and develop our clients products which ultimately contribute to the overall success of their business.
The Quality Engineer, based in Livingston will be fundamental in supporting productivity and efficiency of our clients manufacturing process. You will report directly to the Head of Quality and be responsible for problem solving and system development to maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will track and communicate customer complaints in an efficient and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Carry out duties and maintain the QMS to comply with the ISO 9001:2015 standard
- Administrative control of quality software system
- Lead investigations into root cause countermeasures and conclusion of Customer Complaints, utilising the quality software system
- Control activity and investigations into product quality defects and internal non-conformance’s
- Engage assessment and control of supplier assessments, auditing and raw material inspection
- Through data driven analytical troubleshooting practices, identify and implement improvements in the manufacturing process
- Maintain a high level of understanding and knowledge of the QC element of our manufacturing facility
- Ensure the QMS can be used to report consistently on the defined quality KPI’s that have been set out
- Offer support for team administration and documentation compliance
- Design and develop processes to optimise productivity and workflow
- Implement and provide training in analytical problem-solving techniques
- Develop tools to quantify process and product capabilities
- Apply statistical relevance to areas of improvement and quantify potential and real benefits
- Install and monitor systems of continuous improvement and other initiatives as appropriate
- To support the production teams in their objectives of high-quality production, efficient running and good machine utilisation
- To link customer feedback to product specifications and process capabilities
- To maintain the QMS and deal efficiently and positively with customer complaints
- To analyse data to determine opportunities for improvement
- To fully utilise the breadth of the QMS for the site’s benefit
- Design templates and reporting functions that provide a consistent approach to the way Quality KPIs are reported
- To lead and review internal auditing practices
- To lead and review non-conformance investigations and system updates
- Generate and deliver QMS training materials to ensure that new and existing staff are adequately trained
- Complete appropriate levels of administration to ensure efficient operation
Additional Requirements;
- Experience of working with quality management systems and ISO 9001:2015 compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business
- Experience of fast moving, complex manufacturing processes
- High level of technical report writing skills
- A dynamic approach to prioritising workload and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of using ERP systems
- Degree educated in Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent
- Experience of Microsoft packages and statistical analysis software
- Understanding of scientific and mathematical principles
- Good level of Lean understanding
- Able to make effective presentations to diverse group
