MRD Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Planning Manager on behalf of Manufacturing client, who is a market leader in their respective field. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Planning Manager will be based in Edinburgh.
The successful Planning Manager, based in Edinburgh, will join the Supply Chain and Logistics Team in a rapidly expanding company.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Lead, grow, and develop the Planning function within a fast-paced, rapidly expanding organisation
- A key member of our management team, responsible for forecast consolidation to supply plan, including addressing supply constraints over a medium-term planning window
- Ensure resources are planned and scheduled to successfully deliver our product commitments on time and in full
- Oversee the delivery of the monthly production schedule and the longer-term Master Production Schedule to ensure on-time and full delivery to our customers
- Partner with colleagues across the business including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, QC, QA, Business Development and to maintain a forward-looking S&OP plan
- Work with the Supply Chain team to maintain internal demand plans and forecasts to ensure that all processes have sufficient materials to execute the schedule as planned
- Lead the supply plan discussion both internally and with clients, ensuring alignment with client requirements and contractual obligations
- Define, create and report on key performance metrics and dashboards, schedule adherence, facility utilisation and on-time starts
- Develop internal and external capacity models for all functions and activities related to manufacture, quality, testing and shipping of product to customers
- Develop and improve existing Sales and Operations Execution practices
- Working with business functions support new business and new product development and ensure they are integrated into planning process
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
- Experience as a Supplier Manager and supplier relationship management within a similar environment
- An excellent understanding of supply planning/constraint supply and scenario planning
- Sales operation planning, demanding planning/forecasting and inventory classification and policy development experience
- Experience of implementing sales and operations planning (S&OP)
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially excellent Excel skills (creation of KPIs / dashboards / reports)
- Understand the difference between planning and execution, with experience in both
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
- Ability to manage key stakeholders from operational staff to board level
- Ability to create a positive environment through self-awareness and social skills
- Manage and influence stakeholders’ and customer expectations effectively
- You will be organised, with excellent administration and record-keeping skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a real desire to continually develop and improve our processes.
