MRD Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading manufacturing business to recruit a Site Engineering Lead for a key production facility in East Kilbride.

The Role

This is a senior, site-based engineering leadership role responsible for leading the engineering function and driving operational performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will be accountable for ensuring the engineering team delivers high standards of maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on maximising plant performance, uptime, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the site engineering team, ensuring strong performance, engagement, and capability
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance activities and breakdown response
• Drive improvements in plant reliability, automation, and engineering performance
• Manage engineering contractors and ensure all works are carried out safely and compliantly
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, quality, and site standards
• Support and lead continuous improvement and capital project activities
• Manage engineering budgets and maintenance spend
• Ensure effective control of engineering stores and spare parts
• Support audit readiness and site compliance requirements
• Work closely with operational and site leadership teams to deliver site objectives

The Ideal Candidate

• Experienced Engineering Leader from a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong background leading multi-skilled engineering teams
• Proven experience improving plant performance and reliability
• Comfortable managing contractors and engineering compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with automation or modern manufacturing systems would be advantageous
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive positive change
