Electrical Engineer

MRD Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit an Electrical Engineer. This is a permanent day shift, Monday-Friday position and is a site-based. This role is located in Port Glasgow, reporting into the Operations Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and innovative organisation that offers excellent training and development. The successful candidate, based in Port Glasgow will play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer:

• Maintain and fault-find on a wide range of electrical plant and equipment including lighting, fire detection, HVAC and power systems
• Ensure site-wide compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
• Work with internal teams and contractors to manage installation, maintenance, and repair projects
• Support and maintain reliability of of electrical systems
• Manage and issue permits to work, ensuring all activities are properly controlled and documented
• Interpret and update electrical drawings and schematics as required

Essential Skills & Experience for the Electrical Engineer:

• Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Understanding of electrical distribution systems and building services equipment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams and external contractors
• Experience in project management
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
